Behind the mic

Alex van Randwyck and Tess Bishop both graduated from University and were presented with a not hugely unique problem.

Neither of them wanted to use their degrees. £27k well spent.

Having been friends since their AH test training they found themselves working at the same yard wondering what to do next. The Pony Podcast was born.

Tess Bishop

Founder and Editor in Chief

Tess spent her childhood hooning round the Hampshire countryside on some VERY naughty ponies, working on professional dressage and eventing yards around her education and achieved her Pony Club A test before deciding to pursue an Animal Biology and Conservation degree at Oxford Brookes. She produced her gorgeous mare Corgary Femme Fatale to Advanced and made the tough decision to take a step back from competing, become an owner and focus some other projects that were becoming too time consuming to juggle both. A huge fan of anything sport related she's a diehard British Eventing volunteer and having tried every role going (not an exaggeration) she's now chasing the goal of being a Cross Country controller and Commentator. Working on the Podcast having ignited a passion for speaking which came as a shock to absolutely nobody who knew her.

Alex van Randwyck

Founder and Content Manager

Alex came to riding at 10 and immediately found a passion for horse and pony care. She completed a degree in Geology at Leicester and masters in Petroleum Geoscience at Imperial. Despite these Alex graduated and rediscovered her love for horse care and education and threw herself into riding and coaching alongside taking up the content organisation for the Podcast. She achieved her Pony Club A test, UKCC 2 and BHSAI while working on professional event yards. As a sought after trainer she competes her fabulous mare What a Primadonna at Intermediate and is in high demand for riding and schooling.
